"I am Māori ki Moananui-O-Kiva with connections to Ngāti Uri, Ngāti Ārera, Ngāti Rupe, and Ngāti ‘Akatauira. I'm a writer-director and indigenous storyteller based in Aotearoa-New Zealand. My short documentary Te Wao Nui explores kaitiakitanga and the indigenous relationship to nature, screening at 11 international film festivals. I've voyaged on a traditional Polynesian double-hulled canoe for six months, drawing upon my Māori and mixed whakapapa for inspiration."
