Marc Furmie was born in South Africa and raised in Australia. He graduated from UNSW's College of Fine Arts and began his career directing commercials for brands like McDonalds, Sony, and Volkswagen, as well as music videos for major labels and artists.

His short films A Perfect Circle (2020), Dark Horse (2009), and Death’s Requiem (2007) played in over 50 film festivals worldwide, winning awards at Flickerfest, Method Fest, and the St. Kilda Film Festival.

In 2015, Furmie co-wrote and directed Terminus, a sci-fi feature film released globally by Vertical Entertainment. He also co-wrote In Like Flynn (2019) and Sweet River, a Netflix Original.

Furmite's screenplay for Harlem 58 was a Top 3 finalist in the 2020 Final Draft Big Break. He sold his first television pitch, The Coves, to Thematic Entertainment.

As co-founder of Rezistor Films in Los Angeles, Furmie oversees a slate of films with international writers and directors.
