Kayden Phoenix is a queer Chicana writer and director from Boyle Heights, California. She became an advocate for diversity in the industry after noticing its standardizations. Her work has received recognition on film festival circuits, including wins at Cinequest, LA Film Awards, and Queen Palms International.

Phoenix created the Chicana Directors Initiative, was selected for Panavision's New Filmmaker's program, and is a semi-finalist for Universal Animation Writer's program. She is credited with creating the first Latina superhero team in comicbook history with her graphic novels A LA BRAVA.

Phoenix's next project, The Majestics, Universe of Native and Latina Princesses, continues to promote diversity and equality in storytelling.
