Jazmin Aguilar, a Mexican-American director and writer from Los Angeles, obtained her BA in Digital Cinema and Video Production from the Art Institute of Hollywood in 2018. Her debut short film, "The Letter," earned several recognitions and an HBO license in 2020 while her first directed play, "The Fruit Flies," premiered at the NBC Short + Sweet Hollywood competition. Aguilar won Best Director at the Young Entertainer Awards and is an HBO Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today Fellowship alumna. In 2022, she was a finalist in the McDonald's Spotlight Dorado competition, securing funding for her short film, "Kid Ugly." Currently, Aguilar is working on her first feature film, "Hija de tu Madre."
