Danuta is a first-gen queer, transmasculine writer based in East Los Angeles. Investigating gender and immigrant narratives through multicultural contexts, Danuta is passionate about creating humanized, well-rounded villains. A former middle school math teacher, advertising creative, and cultural strategist for Fortune 500 Companies, Danuta also has experience as a candle connoisseur. In 2022, they earned their MFA in TV Writing and Production from Loyola Marymount University and produced their first short film, Transpassing, which was nominated for a 2022-2023 comedy award and screened at numerous festivals. Since then, they have worked as a producer's assistant on A Deeper Look (Hulu), an office production assistant on the fourth season of 9-1-1: Lone Star (Fox), and a reader for Austin Film Fest (2023). They have also produced various short films for friends and peers. Danuta's goal is to join a writer's room, become a showrunner, and open their own production house. They are a Scorpio who loves tiny acts of rebellion and book recommendations.
