Daniel Hamuy is an award-winning composer, orchestrator, and music producer. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has been residing in Los Angeles for 29 years.

He has composed music for films, documentaries, TV, and recording artists. Collaborations include David Newman, David Hirschfelder, and Steve Bramson on blockbuster films like The Flinstones 2, Nutty Professor 2, Jingle All The Way, and The Waterboy.

Recent work includes scoring HBO's In Other Words, John Leguizamo’s Road to Broadway, winner of the Imagen Awards, and Tales From a Ghetto Klown for PBS.

As a music producer, he worked on films like Under the Same Moon (a.k.a La Misma Luna), The Ramen Girl, America, and The Five People you Meet in Heaven. He has also orchestrated for top orchestras around the world, including Prague, Sofia, Hungary, Munich, Argentina, and Puerto Rico.

His songwriting is featured in Chayanne's CD, which became a platinum record and #1 US Billboard top Latin album. Other credits include songs for films like Behind Enemy Lines 3: Colombia and Eduardo Bosio's tenor CD.

Daniel arranged music for artists such as Rickie Lee Jones, Rachelle Ferrell, Michael Kleitman, Chayanne, Facundo Monti, Eduardo Bosio, Marco Missinato, Maria Sorte, and Latin American Duos. He has also performed with Christian McBride, Victor Mendoza Big Band, Brian Lewis Big Band, and Psych big band.

He co-developed the 500-shortcut keyboard template Powerkeys for Logic Pro, which became a favorite among top VIP composers. Daniel consulted on Powerkeys for notable artists such as Mark Isham, Bill Ross, David Newman, George Duke, Van Halen, Herbie Hancock, Michel Colombier, Peter Erskine, John Farrar, Joel Goldsmith, and Lee Ritenour.

As the leader of The Eclectic Band in Boston, Daniel performed at the Berklee Performance Center and won the IAJE first prize in composition. He is a mentor and lecturer for NALIP, presenting young directors and producers on film music.
