Christie received awards in 2022, including Best Screenwriter at the Leo Awards. In 2020 and 2021, she won several awards for Best Canadian Female Director, Best Director, Best Film, and Best Sci-Fi Film. She also received a Legacy Award from the Directors Guild of Canada in 2019.

Christie worked as Peter Berg's assistant before being hired by Bob Yari to launch a division of lower-budget independent movies. She developed and produced the comedy "Hollywood and Wine" and was a producer on "Christmas In Wonderland".

Her first film, "Dysfunction", received critical acclaim and earned several awards. Her next feature film, "Slightly Single in L.A", became a Netflix pioneer acquisition. Christie also wrote and directed the comedy "Boy Toy", which was acquired by Lionsgate.

She became a sought-after television movie writer/director, writing and directing over 27 acclaimed movies for theatre and small screen. Christie was the first female director of an entirely female-directed film for Hallmark Channel ("Harvest Love", 2017) and the first to direct a music movie for the network ("Over The Moon", 2019).
