Anika Shakir is a NBC TV Writer’s Program 2022 Finalist and South Asian writer/filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She graduated from Georgia State University and recently attended The New York Film Academy. Anika's scripts aim to bring positive Muslim representation to the screen, tackling topics like survival, family, feminism, spirituality, and oppression. A Microsoft developer by day, she aspires to shed light on technology's impact on society through her writing. Her TV pilots "QUEENS" and "THE UNDERGROUND" have placed in various screenwriting competitions, including The Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition and Coverfly Pitch Week. She is a Coverfly endorsed writer and a finalist for the FilmLab TV 2022 Cohort, where she's working on an episode of TV with Grant Rosenberg.
